AWSTIC candidates bag 8 out of 14 medals in IndiaSkills 2021
In light of the IndiaSkills 2021 that was concluded earlier this week, the Media & Entertainment Skills Council or the MESC, a Not-for-Profit organisation has launched the Authorised World Skill India Training Centres or the AWSITC with the aim of achieving the Skill India Mission initiative. These centres will groom, train, and prepare candidates for the WorldSkills Championship that will be held in Shanghai, China. Half of the winners of the IndiaSkills competition, that is 8 out of the 14 candidates, were trained at AWSITC. Experts in the fields of Print Media, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, and 3D Game Art conducted rigorous training for these candidates, with the guidance of MESC. Read more.
Raising marriage age for women will make them ‘Aatmanirbhar’, saysPM Modi
In a move towards empowering the youth, especially the female youth, the marriage age has been raised for women from 18 to 21 years old. At the virtual inauguration of Technology Centre of the MSME Ministry and Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Manimandapam in Puducherry, the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, commented on this saying that this move will make women ‘Aatmanirbhar’ and empower ‘desh ki beti’ in a way that they will have enough time to complete their education, build careers, and become self-reliant. He also said that the government is striving to provide the youth of the country infrastructure and a platform to develop the country. Read more.
STFC and Skill India collaborate to train HMV drivers to handle Oxygen Tankers
Shriram Transport Finance Company or the STFC has launched the Shriram Seva Sankalp LMO Driver Training, a CSR initiative of the company in collaboration with Skill India, with the aim of upskilling 1000 Heavy & Medium Vehicle drivers with the handling and transport of Cryogenic LMO Tankers. With the pandemic showing no way of reaching an end, campaign will streamline the supply chain of Liquid Medical Oxygen or LMO tanker. This training program is also expected to ensure the transport of oxygen tankers to not only be accident-free, but seamless as well. On the completions of the holistic Cryogenic Medical Oxygen Tanker Driver Training Program, the trainees will receive certificates by the Logistics Skill Council. About 500 drivers have completed training this month, the rest will complete by March 2022. Read more.
