Earlier this month, a six-day training program was held for the rural youths under Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY). It was a joint venture of the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Wokha, and was themed around mushroom production techniques.

The official press release stated that the objective of the training is to provide skill-based training to rural youth on agro-based vocational areas, and as a result to generate enhance their employability. The program which complies with National Policy on Skill Development & Entrepreneurship in Agriculture also had practical demonstrations, fields visit – poultry unit, piggery unit, fish cum duck farming, and so on.
