Since being set up in 2015, the Centre for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has worked on providing training and employment to over 6000 people in retail, electrical, beauty and BPO sectors. The training lasts 90 days and is conducted under a Gurukul format in cities like Delhi and Bangalore, but has now adapted to online mediums to overcome challenges from the pandemic.

The trainees come from low income backgrounds like daily wage sectors and agriculture, a segment that currently makes up for millions of unemployable youths between ages 15 and 29. Keeping these numbers in mind, the programme plans to extend training to 25,000 youths this year. India currently has one of the worldâs highest number of youths, who with the right training could become skilled and employable. Read more.
