Safe Water Network, a well-known international NGO, held a physical training programme on July 15, 2022, called “Vocational Training of Youth and Women in Water Enterprise” to share its knowledge on how to become a certified water entrepreneur/technician. The programme is held under the USAID programme SEWAH in partnership with Amity University, NOIDA. Dr. Poonam Sinha, Director, National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development, inaugurated the programme. Ms. Poonam Sewak, Vice President, Programs & Partnerships, Safe Water Network, presented the keynote address, followed by a vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Neelam Saxena, Head, Amity Center for Entrepreneurship Development, Amity University.

‘NIPUN’-an innovative initiative to upskill construction workers

Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs is implementing an innovative project NIPUN (National Initiative for Promotion of Upskilling of Nirman workers), as part of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana National Urban Livelihoods Mission. This project aims to skill train over one lakh construction workers in the National Skills Qualifications Framework aligned courses. National Skill Development Corporation is the implementation agency, and a network of industry partners in construction sector and the related Sector Skill Councils i.e. Construction Skill Development Council of India , Water Management & Plumbing Skill Council and Infrastructure and Equipment Sector skill Council are participating in this initiative.
