TSBIE is developing four vocational junior colleges in Telangana into Centres of Excellence. To promote skill-based education, CoEs will be established in Hyderabad, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, and Warangal. Centurion University is guiding TSBIE to introduce new vocational courses.

Out-dated courses are removed, and faculties & labs upgraded. TSBIE will also establish 10 skill centres as a part of PMKVY. The skill centres are targeted to school and college dropouts. Candidates with skills like tailoring, carpentry, etc. can work in CoEs. Currently, 22 vocational courses are being offered at 176 colleges.
