To bridge the skills-jobs mismatch the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has announced strategic measures focusing on job creation by mapping skill gaps in labor-intensive sectors which will drive market-friendly skills policymaking in the Southern states. The Model Career Centre in Chennai will be used to train, assess and place more than 12,000 candidates through job fairs in tier II cities in 2019.

Under the ‘Competitiveness of South India Inc. India@75: Forging Ahead’ banner, CII Southern Region has taken up skill development and education, MSMEs engagement, ease of doing business, and support for start-ups and entrepreneurship as its main focus areas.
