Pondicherry University to launch new courses in Lakshadweep
The Pondicherry University has initiated its measures to launch three-year undergraduate and one-year diploma vocational courses in the 2021-2022 academic session, of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep for the same.
To be precise, this proposal is to offer new three-year undergraduate vocational courses in Tourism and Service Industry and Software Development, and one-year diploma courses in Catering and Hospitality, Marine, Electrical and Electronics and Mechanical Engineering.
A no-objection certificate has also been given to the Lakshadweep administration for affiliation. Read more

Disappointing Data: Only 70,823 migrants were trained post-covid
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) had targeted training 3 lakh migrant workers from 116 districts. However, the latest data from the skill development ministry reveals that only 70,823 migrants were trained post-covid and only 59,888 were evaluated on the training that was provided.
Bihar topped the list by training 31,619 workers. A parliamentary standing committee has been set up on this note, and the committee has asked the ministry to look into the issues that hinder the smooth skill training of the migrant workers and likewise, adopt corrective measures for better functioning.
