A skill development programme was inaugurated at Kangpokpi DHQs by NSDC. The aim of this program was to up-skill the unemployed youth especially women. This will help to make them employment ready. This skill development programme was conducted as part of PMKVY, a scheme of the MSDE.

The program was organised by the 38 Assam Rifles under Senapati Brigade and KB Philanthropy 5. This is a three-month training programme. During the program 120 unemployed women of Kangpokpi district will be trained. The 38 Assam Rifles has provided the infrastructure requirements as per the NSDC guidelines to conduct the training programme.
