NEP2020 recommends education for employability

In a recent webinar, NEP2020 proposed that students need real-life workplace exposer. They need vocational education & skill training from their schools. The training can be started from class-VI with exposure to different workplaces including factories, banks, retail stores, and local cottage industries. Educational reforms are important to make Indian education system more apt to the 4IR workplace.

Multiple countries like Singapore, South Korea, Finland, etc. have already reformed their education system and getting benefits from it. NEP2020 believes that vocational and skill education of students will prepare employable youth. Hopefully, by 2022, the courses, disciplines, streams, and subjects will be reformed based on skills gap analysis and mapping of job opportunities.
