Lynn Nash, Executive Vice President of the North Carolina Masonry Contractors Association (NCMCA) in the US, writes about the importance of student and apprentice competitions in all construction trades to ensure the trades’ future.
Lynn talks about the hundreds of outstanding and capable young people he met across the state during his visits to such competitions. Such events, he feels, are at their strongest when local masonry contractors get involved. He recommends they become advocates for masonry training, work with school decision makers and encourage students to consider vocational classes.
