The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has set up Indian Institute of Skills in Ahmedabad after setting it up in Kanpur and Mumbai. Under this scheme, the government is providing its lands to private partners through a license whereas the private partners will have to ensure that at least 5000 students are passing out of the institute every year – five years after commencement of the program.

The private partners also need to ensure at least 70 percent of the trainees are placed through campus interviews on a monthly median salary based on the current levels of wages.
