‘India Skills 2021’ regional competition to bring 400 participants to global platform

The last phase of the India Skills Competition 2021 regionals took place on Wednesday at the Andhra University Convention Centre where Mekapati Goutham Reddy, the Minister for Industries and Commerce, said that this competition aims to inspire the youth to develop passion for skills that can enable them to represent India globally. This competition also motivates young Indians to follow vocational education and training or VET which will create a partnership network with World Skills International. India Skills, organised by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), will bring 400 participants from 5 states to the global platform where they can showcase their skills in over 50 categories. Policy To Promote Women Empowerment

The Government of India has implemented schemes like the Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban & Rural), the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), Pradhan Mantri Vyay Vandana Yojana (PMVVY), and Scheme for Adolescent Girls (SAG) that support women and girls to be socially secure, all in favor of empowering the women of the country. the National Education Policy or the NEP of 2020 also give priority to the gender equity and envisions to ensure equal access of quality education especially to those from Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs). Read more.

Three welfare schemes for employment generation by Govt

To amplify employment generation, the Ministry of Rural Development has implemented three welfare schemes that will include the rural youths from SC/ST/Economically Weaker Sections. The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) is a wage employment programme that provides one hundred days of guaranteed wage employment. The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) is a skill development, programme liked with placement for wage employment.Skill development through Rural Self Employment and Training Institutes (RSETIs) enables trainees to avail bank credit so that they can start their own Micro-enterprise.
