The IGNOU-MSDE (Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship) Extension Center in Udhampur was inaugurated today by Dr Sandeep Gupta, the responsible regional director. To effectively support the student community and promote awareness of the possibilities of IGNOU programs, Regional Director Dr Sandeep Gupta announced that more and more IGNOU Extension Centers will emerge in the Jammu region. Gaurav Khajuria, the chairman of the GK Educational Trust, and Raghav Sharma, the project director, were present and engaged with the IGNOU team, as were several students participating in skill development programs. Four extension centres have already been built as a part of this project. For assistance with applications, online support, pre-admission counselling, and other services, students can visit these IGNOU Extension Centers.
Youth Ideathon 2022: A captivating event for students with exciting rewards
The youth ideation for India @75 (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav), which has been announced by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and CBSE, will take effect in 2022. This multi-stage event has welcomed young people with unique entrepreneurial ideas to encourage a spirit of creativity and entrepreneurship among students. Prototyping awards and prizes totalling Rs 10,000 will be given to the top 25 teams. The top 10 teams out of the top 25 will each receive an incubation grant worth Rs 100,000. An award of Rs 25,000 has also been offered by Sheatwork, the ideal knowledge platform for female entrepreneurs, for the greatest female student innovator. The ideation is open to students in grades 4 through 12 from all around India, including those attending schools that are connected with the CBSE abroad. ‘Apprentices can provide MSMEs with reliable, cost-effective talent’: TeamLease’s co-founder Rituparna Chakraborty
Rituparna Chakraborty, the co-founder of apprenticeship training provider TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship, asserts that regardless of the behaviour of the enterprise, apprentices can provide MSMEs with reliable, cost-effective talent. She was addressing FEAspire when a research report titled “Reimagining Employability for the 21st-century: 10 Million Apprentices in 10 Years” was released. The report was created in collaboration with job research organisation Just Jobs Network. Rituparna emphasised how apprenticeships have improved India’s employability environment and how we could improve it to its fullest. The Indian government reportedly pays the enrolled apprentices a stipend of Rs 1,500 each month. Nevertheless, due to a lack of knowledge and awareness among MSMEs, a sizable portion of the 1.9 lakh apprentices working in the private sector are excluded from the benefits. The study recommended adopting the Australian apprenticeship program’s emphasis on the STEM field and supporting MSMEs (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths).
