Creation of “Hubs of Excellence in skills” is on the cards according to discussions going on between the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). MSDE has proposed to finance the setting up of hubs in association with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Sector Skills Council.

With a view to upscale the specialized skills of children at an early age, the initiative intends to provide hands-on training to students of classes 9 to 12. The initial phase aims at introducing technology-oriented skill development in schools. The plan proposes to set up one hub for 4 to 5 schools in the same vicinity and the pilot would cover training of 1000 trainers to execute training functions.
