The livelihood of NRI returnees from UAE have taken quite a setback due to change in migration as well as labour laws in gulf countries. Many have unwillingly returned home to their struggling families, unable to find employment. As part of the Vande Bharat Mission, the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Ministry of External Affairs have come together with a new venture specifically to help these skilled youths.

SWADES (Skilled Workers Arrival Database for Employment Support) hopes to create a database of qualified citizens according to their skillsets and experience. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman aims put the returning NRI community to work inside and outside India. Read more.
