Greater Noida expects its third SDC
Greater Noida to expect a third skill development centre (SDC). The new skill development centre (SDC) will be set up by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA). The SDC will be located at Knowledge Park 3 and is expected to be functional by the end of this month. This SDC will be focusing on training in the telecom segment for handset-repair engineering and as line assemblers. The NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation) collaborated course will facilitate the training of 210 youths. TCS iON puts forth employability oriented courses
A collaboration between The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) and TCS iON was recently announced. The partnership will be focused on providing industry-relevant courses aimed at improving employability. The students across all the universities in the State have been finding a tough time getting employed so this collaboration is well anticipated. TCS iON being a strategic unit of Tata Consultancy Services will be able to democratize access to quality education for all. Mathematics, Statistics, and Data Science will be offered as majors which is done with the help of TCS iON, academic institutions, and industry practitioners. Read more.
Training in electronics retail
Last Tuesday a collaboration occurred between Samsung Electronics and NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation). The initiative they are putting forward is called the Samsung DOST (Digital & Offline Skills Training). Making 50,000 youth job-ready for the electronics retail sector over the next few years is what the Samsung DOST initiative will focus on. The curriculum would be 200 hours of blended classroom and online training, followed by five months of on-the-job training (OJT). The on-the-job training (OJT) will occur at Samsung retail stores, along with a monthly stipend. At the end of the course the students will gain new competencies and skills needed for jobs in India’s fast-growing electronics retail environment. Read more.
