The government of India launches a new initiative termed ‘Saksham’ aimed at providing jobs to blue collar workers. Saksham is a job portal that helps connect workers to nearby MSMEs cutting out middlemen or labour contractors. It was launched by Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), under the Department of Science and Technology to reduce the hardship of labourers to find jobs.

An estimate of 10 lakh blue-collar jobs will be available pan India through the portal. Saksham is designed for skill level assessment according to MSME requirement and also has the feature of skill development for workers.
