New five-year plan promises more schools and better facilities

The Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, launched in 2018 with the aim of providing holistic school education, has sent out their five-year plan to states and union territories which will implement annual calendar activities, national initiatives for proficiency in ready with understanding, expanding secondary and senior secondary education, quality and innovation, access and retention, and implementing VidyaPravesh – a three-month play-based school preparation module. Additionally, the centre has also asked to make plans that provide integrated science labs, electricity of ICT, and smart classrooms. The funding of this project is estimated to be about Rs65,654.87cr for the year 2022-23 only. Read more.

NEP-2020: Agra’s Ambedkar University approves 135 new vocational courses

Dr BR Ambedkar University has approved 135 new vocational courses as well as an ordinance to implement NEP-2020 in BCom, CA, and BSC courses, as decided by the Academic Council, chaired by vice-chancellor Prof Alok Kumar Rai, to be in line with the National Education Policy of 2020. The spokesperson of the university, Prof Pradeep Shridhar, made an announcement that, “Ordinance issued for the implementation of National Education Policy-2020 for courses of BA, BSc, BCom, was given approval during the meet and will be sent to Raj Bhavan for sanction by the governor of Uttar Pradesh.” Read more.
