The Task Force for Implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has recommended something new – The Karnataka Education Commission (KEC). First time in India, a state has come up with a road map to refer for the next decade, that too for executing NEP. The KEC will be headed by the Chief Minister and is all set to be placed before the cabinet for its approval.

The task force report said that the Department of State Educational Research and Training (DSERT) will have to review the curriculum and should lessen the current pressure as well. The task force also emphasised that to have greater accountability, there has to be a separation of power among the bodies of the prevailing educational system. Read more.
