Ramesh Pokhriyal, the Education Minister inaugurated 46 online AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), for training the teachers of higher education institutions. It will cost around 10 crore rupees and will be conducted in 22 Indian states.

The online FDPs will align with the new National Education Policy -2020, and this year (2020-21), new areas like Engineering, Management, Life Skills, Design and Media have been included as well.
The Education Minister also informed that a London-based organization has already recognized this FDPs as a world record, as 1,000 online FDPs in over 100 emerging areas will benefit one lakh faculty members even across premier institutions like IITs, NITs, and so on.
