BAMU will witness new Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Center soon
Intending to supply a skilled workforce to the industry, the Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) will be setting up an Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Center in the campus soon. BAMU has already made a provision of Rs.1 crore for various skill development activities for the year 2021. Along with that, the university will be receiving a sum of Rs. 1.5 crore for setting up the Skill Center through CSR.
Dr. Pramod Yeole, the VC of BAMU expressed his gratitude acknowledging the fact that ‘Industry, University, and Society’ have started working together, for improving the chances of employment among the youth. Read more.

Skill Development at the Pre-Primary School Level
Education is not about learning as many concepts as you can. It’s about the overall development of a child. Then how about incorporating skill development at the school level? Sounds great right? Pre-Primary, Delhi Public School in Nacharam, Telangana has set an example for the right kind of education by organizing a four-day skill development camp to nurture the kids with experience, enjoyment, and of course Skills.
The camp included activities like Penguin Zumba, Oyster making craft, and so on. Added to that, one day of the four-day-long camp even started with energetic action rhymes followed by a virtual trip to feel the underwater aquatic life. Survey reveals that engineering graduates take up additional certification courses for skill development
An online survey was conducted by BridgeLabz on ‘Why and what do graduates look for in certification courses post-completion of studies?’ As per the survey report, more than 56% of engineers wanted to choose certification courses after their graduation as they felt it helped them to enhance their skills. On the other hand, 19.62% of them considered taking these courses for better job prospects and 18.79% of them confidently said certification courses can guarantee job placement.
Narayan Mahadevan, the founder, and CEO of Bridgelabz however has a different take. He believes that opting for certification courses does not guarantee them a job. He encouraged the youth to first identify the skills that they already have. “After that, research what are the requirements in the market and then take up the course which adds value to your resume,” he added.
