Apprenticeship is one way that can be beneficial for both the Government and Industries. It helps to prepare people skilled and employment-ready while fulfilling a company’s demand for employees. To upgrade apprenticeship, the government has launched NAPS in 2016, which offers financial support to employers.

The Apprentices Act also backs MSMEs, to engage apprentices with a prescribed rate of stipend. It helps to elevate the number of apprentices in the ecosystem and bridging the existing skills gap. The organizations hiring apprentices show a greater retention rate than hiring fresh candidates under contract. Apprenticeship programmes provide required skills and knowledge to new entrants as well as dropouts. Read more
