The Department of Skill Development Jammu and Kashmir signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu. This collaboration aims to enhance the skill and hence the employability of students. Likewise, it also focuses on equipping the staff with knowledge on the latest technologies.

Dr. Asgar Hasan Samoon, Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department, said that the primary goal of the MoU is to strengthen employability so that the youth of the state get more solid means of living.He further added that this cooperation looks forward to introducing new area-specific skill training for forthcoming projects like tunnels, railways, power projects, and cold storage/refrigeration.
