More skilling for women
Over 100 million Indian youth (15-29 years) are not in education, employment or training. Around 88.5 million of the unskilled population are young women. There has been a leap from 6.8% in 2011-12 to 6.9% in 2018-19 in regards to working-age women receiving any form of vocational training. These statistics is of the past 10 years. At the same time, for men the leap has been from 14.6% to 15.7% around the same timeline. non-engineering, labour-intensive sectors and job roles seem to be harbouring most female trainees. Digital platform tie-up with the Delhi government
The digital intuition Inkclick, a digital institution has come into a collaboration with the Delhi government. This collaboration will focus on offering courses through the digital platform. The digital platform comes under its Skill Development Center initiative. The Delhi government wants to inculcate skill for overall upscaling the talent of students. This collaboration will lead to increase in employment for people. Inkclick will provide, over 10,000 mentors, virtual classroom environment for teachers, parents and over one lakh students. The Director of Rotary Club of Delhi Southend Skill Development Centre Hemant Bhasin expressed his concerns about the collaboration with Inkclick. Read more.
430 students will be skilled in 2 development centres
Currently Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) has six skill development centres. The centres were formed under GNIDA-NSDC (Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority-National Skill Development Corporation) centre. GNIDA has opened two units at Alpha 1 and Mubarakpur. 430 students will be trained in the GNIDA centres. The training would mostly be in telecom and electronics for students. The six centres offer a total of 1,170 seats. Anyone between the ages of 18 and 35 years will be eligible for training at these centres. Dadri MLA Tejpal Nagar and Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh inaugurated the centres which occurred last Tuesday. Read more.
The women’s wing at VCCI will provide vocational training
The Vizagapatam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) contains a women’s wing. A series of vocational training modules for girls and women will take place in the women’s wing at VCCI. The vocational training will be aimed at equipping women with skills for better employability and encouraging them to take up entrepreneurship. The vocational training will begin from August 16 at VCCI. Sandhya Godey the honorary secretary of the wing stated that training modules will be conducted by experts in the respective fields. With 80% attendance and a successful completion VCCI will grant students with certificates. Read more.
