Women are sometimes hesitant to pursue science and engineering subjects. But efforts are being made by both government and industry to get women interested in STEM subjects. The view that apprenticeships are mainly a masculine domain is rapidly becoming a thing of the past.
It is seen that women are increasingly taking the vocational training route. The advantages of taking up an apprenticeship – earning while learning, building confidence, avoiding a pileup of university tuition fees – are becoming clearer to women, thus leading them down the apprenticeship route.
