Telangana is experiencing a high rate of unemployment despite being a hot spot for higher education. The cause is the gap that exists between industry requirements and skills imparted to the youth through the existing education system, says FTCCI chairman T Muralidharan.

FTCCI is now set to roll out a list of suggestions that can help overcome this gap. Advisor to TIHCL, Yerram Raju Behara also agrees to add that the youth is not keen on low-wage jobs being offered by industries. However, B Vinod Kumar, Telangana State Planning Board Vice Chairman, is not unnecessarily bothered by this insight. He adds that the youth must adapt to the right set of entrepreneurship opportunities available which will be achieved once an industry-oriented curriculum is in place. Read more.
