The Assam cabinet has approved the Assam Skill Development University Bill which provides for setting up Skill University at Mangaldoi with an investment of Rs 900 crore.

According to Chandra Mohan Patowary, state cabinet minister of transport, industry, and commerce, such an initiative will provide immense opportunities to youths of state for skill development. Assam Government has tied up with ITE Education Service, Singapore for setting up the Skills University.
