On 16th September, Mangalore Institute of Fire and Safety Engineering and National Skill Development Corporation jointly organized the launch of Skill India Program in Mangalore at Town Hall. The program was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of Mangalore University, Dr. P S Yadapadithaya.

The speaker emphasized the need for skills in an individual to become relevant in the job market and how a qualification certificate from an institution is not enough to get noticed for jobs. Details about the mission were discussed and it was told that the Skill India Program has 4000 courses to choose from and all of these impart skills and knowledge that would make the trainee of the program a preferred choice in the job market. MLA and former minister U T Khader was also present along with other important academic figures of the state.
