Tata Consultancy Services’ strategic unit – TCS iON – and the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) have partnered to support the ASDC’s efforts to standardise processes and scale skills training for the auto sector.

TCS iON will closely work with ASDC to develop in-demand courses which will be imparted through classroom and digital learning modules based on its unique ‘Phygital’ Learning Methodology.

A Digital Assessment Platform will support mapping of skill gaps in the auto industry with the right kind of candidates. This is being seen as an important step to use technology to plan and deliver skills training where needed and to job match based on real time industry demand.

Nikunj Sanghi, Chairman, ASDC, said, “This endeavour will focus on creating an automated digital assessment process, a digital learning hub, and a listing platform for jobs and candidates. Fully supported by the auto industry, this will enable us to meet the objectives and aspirations of all stakeholders, (including job aspirants, employers and the Government) towards meeting Skill India/Make in India objectives by creating value additions through Skilling/Up-Skilling for Human Capital creation and enhancement which would lead to more economic activity and consequent additional jobs”.
