Renault-Nissan Alliance India and the NSDC have signed a memorandum of understanding for workforce training in the company’s Chennai plant. NSDC will lend support to Renault-Nissan to equip its workforce in emerging automotive manufacturing technology skills.
To make skill building specific to their industry needs, Renault-Nissan Alliance will engage in a customized skilling plan with the NSDC on program design and execution through a blended learning model comprising of onsite labs, training, mentorship, internship and interaction with domain experts.
Speaking on the value of this MoU, Jayakumar David, HR Director at Renault-Nissan Alliance India added, “While technology will play a pivotal role in the transformation of the automotive industry, investment in upskilling of the workforce is equally important. Through our partnership with NSDC, which is a first for the Corporation, we will aim to get 10% of employees trained in the first year to be able to support the growth and expansion plans of the Alliance in India.”
