Industry veteran Mr. A.M. Naik was appointed Chairman, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) on 28th November 2018. Mr. Naik’s illustrious career spans 50 years in infrastructure, engineering, and construction. Currently, the Group Chairman of Larsen & Toubro Limited, Mr. Naik’s appointment to the NSDC marks the importance placed by the government on skill building. It is being widely felt that Mr. Naik’s extensive experience will steer the NSDC towards a demand-based skilling mechanism and do away with a lot of the current vagaries in the skilling ecosystem. Among many accolades, Mr. Naik is also a recipient of the Padma Bhushan, India’s 3rd highest civilian award.
