The government of India has made several efforts to secure the political, social, and economic advancement of women through several planned initiatives. While programmes like Samagra Shiksha, the Scheme of National Overseas Scholarship, and others ensure that girls have better educational opportunities, the government also offers training to female workers through a network of Women Industrial Training Institutes, National Vocational Training Institutes, and Regional Vocational Training Institutes. The government has also established the Skill India Mission to ensure the economic independence of women via skill development and vocational training. To improve women’s involvement and boost economic productivity, the National Skill Development Policy places a strong emphasis on inclusive skill development. For assisting women in starting their businesses, there are programmes like the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Stand Up India, and the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) has taken numerous further actions to fully empower women and girls. Today, it is clear that the government’s aforementioned actions are having a favourable impact.
