UP’s district of Prayagraj will be hosting the Prime Minister’s National Apprenticeship Fair on the second Monday of every month in order to provide the youth an apprenticeship opportunity with various institutions. Candidates who wish to participate in this fair need to be over the age of 14 and must have passed class 5. The apprenticeship training will pay a monthly stipend of INR 7,000/- alongwith a National Council for Vocational Education and Training recognised certificate upon completion. Kapil Dev Agarwal, UP minister of state for vocational education and skill development mentioned the other 25 districts that will host the apprenticeship fair to include “Agra, Aligarh, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Basti, Chitrakoot, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Jhansi, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Lucknow, Meerut, Mirzapur, Moradabad, Noida, Prayagraj, Saharanpur, Varanasi, Hardoi, Bulandshahr, Jaunpur and Muzaffarnagar.”
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reviews construction work of IIM Sambalpur campus
Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Education Minister, visited the under-construction Sambalpur campus of the Indian Institute of Management to evaluate the construction work for the same. Observing World Environment Day, Pradhan also planted saplings at the campus. “IIM Sambalpur will emerge as a pioneer in nurturing entrepreneurial mindset, boosting entrepreneurial capacities, encouraging research and innovation. A Vikas Teerth in the making, it will usher in new era of opportunities for our youth, in line with the NEP 2020,” he said.
AISECT implementing skill training, livelihood under RISE programme in eight States
AISECT is implementing the RISE programme (Rural India Skill Empowerment) in MP, Rajasthan, UP, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Jharkhand, with the initiative of Microsoft in collaboration with the NSDC. This programme aims to empower 2lac women and youth through 20 hours skills training in Communication Skills, Digital Productivity, Entrepreneurship Skills, and Employability Skills. The candidates will receive a completion certificate by Microsoft and mentorship and guidance to improve livelihood opportunities as well. The motive of this project is to make candidates aware of how to avail and utilize the various digital learning platforms. Microsoft also tries to bridge the digital divide by engaging candidates in a self-paced learning mode.
‘Digital Skilling Program’ to give internship opportunities to students from class 7
The AICTE is launching the ‘Digital Skilling’ program initiative, inaugurated by Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister of Education. “Given the high IQ and manpower talent galore in India, this program for the education sector is to connect the right applicants with skill trainers and various courses providing expertise on emerging technologies. It includes artificial intelligence, blockchain, big data, cloud computing etc. Under ‘ AatmaNirbhar Bharat Mission’ India will be at par with the leading technologies in the world, giving impetus to innovations and skills under the New Education Policy,” said Pradhan speaking at the occasion. This program will give internship opportunities in the technical field to students from grade 7 onwards.
