40,000 tyre-fitters to be trained in UP

Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has launched a programme under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to re-skill and certify 40,000 tyre-fitters from UP by March 2020.18 Mobile Skill Vans are flagged off by Union MSDE Dr. Mahindra Nath Pandey in presence of ministers and senior officials of state government, Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association and Rubber Skill Development Council.

The vans are launched with the intention to up-skill auto mechanics, especially tyre-fitters who don’t have access to formal training centres. The tyre-fitters are re-skilled and up-skilled with best practices and also educated in health and safety methods to follow during wheel alignment and changing tyres. Currently, about 35000 tyre-fitters are already been assessed and up-skilled and under certification.
